Our construction process

From first conversation
to final walkthrough.

A home project brings hundreds of decisions. We bring the planning, people, and construction together—with trusted architects, engineers, and designers from our network, or professionals you already work with. Here is how we guide your custom home, renovation, addition, or ADU from the first decisions through completion.

01 / Discovery

Define the project.

We start with your property, how you want to live, and what you want to change. We review any existing plans and discuss your priorities, target investment, timing, and the support you need.

Your involvementShare your goals, must-haves, and budget range.

How this helpsA shared direction and clear next steps before design and pricing move ahead.

02 / Feasibility & budget

Understand the options and costs.

We review the scope, site constraints, and construction requirements with the relevant design professionals. Early budgeting helps compare options and identify cost drivers, unknowns, and areas that need further investigation.

Your involvementChoose the scope and investment range you want to develop.

How this helpsUnderstand the trade-offs before committing to a larger or more complex project.

03 / Design & selections

Bring the plans and details together.

We can bring together trusted architects, engineers, and designers we work with regularly, or collaborate with your existing team. We coordinate design decisions and selections with the build, considering layouts, materials, fixtures, and finishes alongside cost, availability, and installation.

Your involvementReview layouts and approve key materials and finishes.

How this helpsA coordinated design team and informed selections, with less for you to organize on your own.

04 / Pre-construction

Get ready to build.

We coordinate the construction scope, pricing, project sequence, and required permit process with the appropriate professionals. We plan trade involvement and material orders, and review allowances, exclusions, and open decisions before work begins.

Your involvementReview the agreed scope, contract, budget, and anticipated schedule.

How this helpsKnow what is included and what needs to be resolved before work starts on site.

05 / Construction

Build with experienced oversight.

Our experienced project managers oversee day-to-day construction, coordinating our skilled crew, specialty trades, deliveries, and inspections. We monitor workmanship and progress, keep you informed, and review proposed changes and their cost and timing implications before the affected work moves forward.

Your involvementStay involved through updates and approve decisions or changes that need your input.

How this helpsExperienced oversight on site, attention to workmanship, and clear communication throughout the build.

06 / Completion

Walk through the finished home.

We walk the home with you, identify finishing items, and coordinate their completion. We help bring together applicable final inspections and available product and care information, and explain next steps for any outstanding items.

Your involvementReview the finished spaces and raise questions during the walkthrough.

How this helpsAn organized closeout, with finishing details addressed and clear next steps.
